TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The chief technical manager of the National Monument (Monas) Park, Munjirin, said that they have not issued a permit to have the place used as a venue for Prabowo Subianto's supporter to have their 'victory celebration'.
The event, initiated by the so-called '212 Alumni', a.k.a. people who protested against ousted Jakarta governor Basuki T. Purnama, was set to be held tonight, April 19, which coincides with Good Friday.
"I have not received a letter requesting a permit for this activity," Mnjirin told Tempo, Friday. "None [permit] has been issued," he asserted.
Munjirin said that to have a public event in Monas, a permit request must be filed at least 15 days before the date. The letter must include a permit from the police.
So far, Munjirin said, he has not received such a letter.
"For [the event in] Monas, we are trying to coordinate it with relevant parties," 212 Alumni spokesman Novel said Bamukmin said on Thursday, April 18.
