TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate and incumbent Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo, asked Indonesians to unite again now that the voting day is over.
"Let us become one again as brothers of the same homeland now that the elections are ending," Widodo said during his camp's press conference at the Jakarta Theater, Wednesday, April 17.
Jokowi said that the people must establish and maintain unity, harmony and brotherhood as fellow Indonesians. After checking out the quick-count and exit poll process, the incumbent asked his supporters to be patient and wait for an official result that would be announced by the Elections Committee (KPU).
Three survey agencies that Tempo collaborates with for quick counts all showed Joko Widodo and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin ahead of Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno.
