22 KPK Inmates of Corruption Abstain from 2019 General Elections

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - There was reportedly 22 Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) inmates that chose to abstain and deny voting in the 2019 general elections.
“22 people did not exercise their right to vote,” said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah on Wednesday, April 17.
However, not much information is known about the reason why the all-male inmates of corruption chose not to vote.

KPK’s correctional is located behind the KPK headquarters in Kuningan, South Jakarta, and is home to 27 inmates that consist of 22 male inmates and five female inmates.
Other than the aforementioned inmates, KPK also accommodated other suspects and defendants from three other correctional institutions. The total number of inmates who voted in the Indonesia elections were 31 people that include former State Ministers and House of Representatives.
