TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - During the country’s simultaneous 2019 General Elections (Pemilu) held today, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati voiced a number of hopes she expects to see in the future elected president and legislators.
She requests that the people’s representatives will be able to represent voices of the public on equal development, a better management system, and the extinction of corruption. Another hope she expects to see in the upcoming government is its ability to elevate Indonesia.

“The real work begins after the General Elections end because the aspirations have been channeled,” said Sri Mulyani at a polling station in Bintaro, South Tangerang today.
The former World Bank managing director aspires for members of society with different views to make peace with fellow countrymen and that any decision taken must be respected.
The General Elections currently in process is the first time the country had ever hosted a nationwide simultaneous election for a future president and legislators, which is a handful of options for the public to vote for in a single event.
