Indonesia Elections Logistics Preparation at 99 Percent, Says KPU

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - General Elections Commission (KPU) Commissioner Pramono Ubaid said that the institution is 99 percent prepared to hold the 2019 general elections and presidential election set to be held on Wednesday, April 17.
As of Monday, the logistical needs were sent to numerous areas across Indonesia’s sub-districts.
“We are chased by the deadline in many regions, especially since the weather has been less than friendly. This includes replacing damaged ballot boxes, which we have already sent, we only need to make sure that the logistics will arrive at their destinations before April 17,” said Pramono at the KPU headquarters on Monday, April 15.

As of the reported damages sustained by elections logistics in a number of areas, KPU is optimistic that it will all be solved before Wednesday.
Pramono also mentioned that the damaged ballot boxes in Bogor, which made headlines on Monday, had been replaced with reserve ballot boxes.
The commission revealed that it has received help from the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) upon distributing logistics to regions that are difficult to reach.
