TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Communication and Information Ministry (Kominfo) has found seven contents on social media that allegedly violated the regulation on the silent period of April 14-16 ahead of the 2019 general elections.
“From early Sunday (April 14), at 00:00 local time until Monday afternoon (April 15), there are seven contents that are allegedly violating the election law,” said Communication and Information Minister Rudiantara after the launch event of an election discount program dubbed Klingking Fun in Jakarta on Monday, April 15.

The posts that were mostly found on Instagram allegedly violated the General Election Commission's (KPU) Decree No. 7 of 2017 onthe silent period.
“Any campaign activity either in real life or cyberspace is prohibited during the silent period,” Rudiantara asserted.
The ministry then reported those seven contents to the Elections Supervisory Body (Bawaslu). "Similar to hoaxes, after Kominfo took them down, the police will follow-up on the case,” Rudiantara concluded.
