Ahok's Sister: Prabowo Subianto Has a Big Heart

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fifi Lety Tjahaja Purnama, a sister of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok, posted two photographs of her together with presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto on her Instagram account today, April 15.

“Entering the silent period, instead of accusing and insulting each other, let’s rebuild our brotherhood,” said Fifi on her social media account.

In the photos, Fifi, who dons a black batik shirt and white pants, is seen sitting beside the Gerindra chief patron, who is wearing a white shirt with a red tie and black pants. Fifi did not detail where and when the photos were taken.

Fifi called on the public to respect each other’s choices and dismiss hate as well as grudges. “It’s an extraordinary gift and honor to meet Mr. Prabowo Subianto, a figure with a big heart, again,” she said.

Fifi then recalled the moments during the 2012 Jakarta gubernatorial race, in which Ahok was appointed as Jokowi’s running mate. That time, she added, no one dared tap a “double-minority” figure as a candidate except Prabowo Subianto.

“It is a proof that he is a true leader who has a big heart because he supports Jakarta leaders and he believes that being a good leader mainly requires competency, integrity, and a character of a statesman,” Fifi added.

“For me, he [Prabowo Subianto] is the best leader to choose,” she remarked, adding that she believed Prabowo could unite all parties as he did when he supported Ahok in the 2012 Jakarta election.
