TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A joint team formed by the National Police headquarters will carry out a case expose on the developments of the assault case of senior Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Novel Baswedan in late April 2019.

“We will conduct a case expose on our findings in the field,” said team member Nur Kholis in a short message on Friday, April 12, 2019.

The joint team has probed the alibis and witnesses’ testimonies in Maluku on April 8-10; in Malang on March 20, 2018; in Bekasi on March 27, 2019; and in Sukabumi on April 2, 2019.

The team also ran a scientific crime investigation into the case and looked into the results of investigations and reports from other institutions.

“And also re-investigate some generals and other policemen,” he said in a press release dated Wednesday, April 10, 2019.  He added that the team had joined forces with a British institution to get a clearer CCTV footage of the attack against Novel Baswedan.

Earlier, President Joko Widodo called on people to seek accounts on the developments of the case from the team as opposed to him. “Ask them about the results. Go after them, and ask about the results. Don’t throw it back to me. What’s the use of forming this team [if you keep asking me about this case]?,” Jokowi said after his presidential campaign in Sentul, Bogor, West Java, April 12, 2019.
