Anies Baswedan to Rejuvenate Areas under Jakarta's Overpasses

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is presently revitalizing the area underneath the Semanggi overpass in South Jakarta. Anies dubbed the location the Art and Culture Expression Space.
“Together with the Bina Marga, Disparbud, Dishub and Diskominfotik, we monitored the Expression Space” that is being constructed beneath the Semanggi overpass,” said the governor on Friday.
According to him, this project will become an example for future projects in managing unused areas beneath Jakarta’s overpasses. It will also be integrated with numerous transportation services in the capital.

Anies Baswedan also announced that the plans had been coordinated with the Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono. According to the governor, the authority of managing such places has been handed to the Jakarta administration.
Other abandoned locations beneath Jakarta’s toll road bridges that are planned to be revitalized include the areas beneath Plumpang – Pluittoll road and Grogol Pluit.
