Jokowi Inaugurates Pasuruan-Probolinggo Toll Road Today

TEMPO.CO, Probolinggo - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is scheduled to inaugurate the 31.3 kilometers of Pasuruan-Probolinggo (Paspro) toll road in the Probolinggo toll gate, East Java, on Wednesday, April 10.
The newly-built toll is part of Trans Java toll road that is expected to significantly reduce travel time from 2.5 hours to 30 minutes. Besides, better connectivity will open more opportunities to encourage the local potential in boosting the regional economy.

“This toll construction is expected to support the equal economic growth in the vicinity region, as well as ease and reduce the logistic transportation cost in East Java,” said PT Waskita Karya president director, I Gusti Ngurah Putra, in a written statement.
The Pasuruan-Probolinggo toll road has three toll gates, viz. GT Tongas, GT Probolinggo Barat, and GT Probolinggo Timur. The construction project was started in May 2016 and completed in December 2018. The toll road was previously opened functionally for the Christmas and 2019 New Year holiday season.
