Prabowo Camp Suspect Ministry Mobilizes People to Jokowi Campaign

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Prabowo - Sandiaga campaign team spokesman Andre Rosiade conveyed his suspicion on the alleged mobilization of State-owned Enterprises (SOE) workers to the grand campaign of Jokowi - Ma’ruf Amin in Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) stadium, Jakarta, on Saturday, April 13.

“There is a rumor on the mobilization of SOE employees to the campaign [of Jokowi] in GBK, they are allegedly forced to attend there,” Andre told Tempo on Monday night, April 8.

According to Andre, based on the information he received, the presence of SOE employees will be recorded and those who are absent will get severe sanction. The mobilization is allegedly carried out to vie with the Prabowo - Sandiaga’s campaign last Sunday, he added.

Additionally, Andre went on, his side heard about the distribution of staple food program in the GBK area that coincides with the launching event of the e-payment service platform, LinkAja. The fintech product is initiated by the partnership of SOEs.

Thus, Andre demanded SOE Minister Rini Soemarno clarify the issue in public and reminded the minister to refrain from using her authority for the interest of practical politics.

“We remind SOE Ministry to not dare using state fund. And I ask SOE Minister to clarify the plans. Do not use state fund for the interest of the presidential election campaign,” Andre stressed.

He further demanded the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) to investigate the information and take actions if the issue proved to be true.

Meanwhile, SOE Ministry secretary Imam Apriyanto Putro has yet responded to calls and message sent by Tempo regarding the issue.
