Jokowi Campaign in Kupang Enlivened by NTT Cultural Show

TEMPO.CO, Kupang - Presidential candidate number 01 Joko Widodo or Jokowi holds a campaign in Sitarda Lasiana Stadium, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) today, April 8. The event is scheduled to commence at 11:00 Central Indonesian Time (WITA).

“The campaign in Kupang is necessary for Jokowi to greet people of East Indonesia,” said the Jokowi - Ma’ruf campaign team head Moeldoko in a written statement on Monday, April 8.

Moeldoko said that Jokowi is committed to actualizing development and prosperity in the eastern area of the archipelago. Throughout the campaign period, Jokowi has visited several regions of East Indonesia, such as Makassar, Gorontalo, Sentani, Papua, and Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.

He claimed that during 4.5 years of Jokowi governance, Jokowi actively developed infrastructures in the country’s east, starting from reservoirs, roads, up to electricity. In NTT alone, the government had built seven reservoirs to deal with the province’s main issue that was water supply.

Jokowi and the entourage will arrive in Kupang at 11:00 WITA, welcomed by NTT culture performance in El Tari Airport and Sitarda Lasiana Field, Kupang city.

Based on Tempo observation, the campaign event begins since 09:00 a.m local times, featuring a number of NTT singers who are champion of a talent show The Voice Indonesia namely Mario G Klau, Aldo Longa, and Rambu Piras.

Other than culture shows, micro, small, medium enterprises booths selling NTT tenun fabric and local foods enliven Jokowi - Ma'ruf campaign event.
