Prabowo`s Grand Campaign, Hotel Occupancy in Senayan 90 Percent

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hotel occupancy rates in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, soared to a level of 80-90 percent during the weekend of 6-7 April 2019. The increase occurred due to the existence of two major activities centered at the Bung Karno Stadium, namely the grand campaign for presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and the Run Election (Pemilu Run).

"Last night was quite full. The increase in occupancy occurred since Saturday, April 6," said Chairman of the Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants Association (PHRI) Jakarta, Krishnadi in a short message on Sunday, April 7, 2019.

At the end of the previous week, hotel occupancy rates averaged 10-25 percent lower than occupancy this weekend. That means, if there is no grand agenda, the occupancy rate of hotels in the Senayan area ranges from 60-70 percent.

The average hotel that increases the number of visitors is a star hotel. Minimal, Krishnadi said, is a two-star one. According to Tempo's searches on online travel agent sites, such as Booking.com and Traveloka, the prices of two to three star hotels in the Senayan area were opened from the price range of Rp600,000.

Meanwhile, four-star hotels are pegged to start at the price range of Rp1 million and five stars start at Rp2 million. This price is valid for weekends, starting from Friday to Saturday with stays until Sunday.

Hotels in the Senayan area with a radius of around 2 kilometers are recorded including Hotel Century Park (four stars), The Sultan Hotel and Residance (five stars), Hotel Mulia Senayan (five stars). Then, Fairmont Hotels (five stars), Best Western Senayan Hotels (three plus stars), and Haris Suites FX Sudirman (four stars). The rest are Airy and Airbnb concept hotels.
