TEMPO.CO, Toba Samosir - Tourism Minister Arief Yahya has inaugurated a new tourist attraction in the National Tourism Strategic Areas (KSPN) of Lake Toba, namely The Kaldera Toba Nomadic Escape on Thursday, April 4, 2019.
"Toba Kaldera Resort will be constructed here in 386.7 hectares of land," said Minister Arief during the launching that takes place in the Authority Zone of Lake Toba Tourism, Ajibata district, Toba Samosir Regency, North Sumatra.
Arief explained that The Kaldera was built with the concept of nomadic tourism, a strategy to build accessibility and accommodation with nomadic concepts, such as glamping (glamorous camping), home pods, and caravans.
The concept, Arief added, was a solution to the tourism development that usually required a long time. For example, the development of Nusa Dua Bali that needed 25 years to make it become an international tourist attraction.
Through the nomadic tourism concept, multiple amenities had been set, such as camps, containers, and caravans in The Kaldera.
The Kaldera Toba Nomadic Escape is expected to support the development of Lake Toba National Tourism Strategic Areas in the global’s eye. “This is part of the amenities to develop Lake Toba. I believe this will be a temporary solution forever,” Arief pinned hope.
