Prabowo to Hold Grand Campaign in GBK Next Sunday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate pair number 02 Prabowo Subianto - Sandiaga Uno planned to hold a grand campaign on Sunday, April 7, 2019, in Gelora Bung Karno main stadium, Jakarta. The head of the pair's campaign organizing committee M Taufik, said that the event will be the major campaign in the 2019 presidential election.

"God's willing, one million people will attend as the target we've set. And I think this will be the greatest campaign," said Taufik in a press conference room of GBK, Jakarta, on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

The head of Prabowo - Sandiaga campaign team of Jakarta explained that the event will be started with mass dawn prayer, followed by a political campaign at 07:00 a.m and will end at 10:00 a.m. local times.

Leaders of parties supporting Prabowo - Sandiaga, Islamic lecturers, and volunteers is said to attend the campaign. Several figures are also scheduled to give political speeches, sermons, and preaching.

"It will be a modest event, without music [dangdutan]. The entertainment show will be simple. We will highlight more political speeches to educate the public," said the Gerindra politician.

The grand campaign coordinator Prasetyo Hadi said the committee would like to offer apologies to the public following the event that might affect the capital city's traffic. Prasetyo asserted that the campaign would run orderly and maintain public interest.

"We are sorry, especially to Jakartans if there is a slight hindrance in transportation, activity on next Sunday, but inshallah, we will not carry out any unwanted thing," Prasetyo concluded.
