KPK: Suspect Bowo Sidik Allegedly Uses Bribe Fund to Bribe Voters

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named suspect a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Bowo Sidik Pangarso in the alleged bribe case of the cooperation between PT Pupuk Indonesia Logistik and PT Humpuss Transportasi Kimia (HTK).
The KPK deputy head Basaria Panjaitan said that Bowo would use the bribe money to carry out serangan fajar or literally means dawn attack on the general election day, April 17. The act refers to money politics by bribing voters in the early morning before voting kicks off.
“The suspect allegedly collected money from several sources to carry out serangan fajar in the 2019 election,” said Basaria in the KPK building, on Thursday, March 28.
During the press conference, KPK showed a total of 84 carton boxes loaded with bribe money totaled Rp8 billion in Rp20,000 and Rp50,000 bills inside white envelopes in those boxes.
Bowo Sidik Pangarso is listed as a legislative candidate in the 2019 election from Golkar Party for the electoral region of Central Java II, covering regencies of Kudus, Jepara, and Demak.
