Sport-Culinary Festival Malioboro KulineRUN to Be Held on April 7

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Malioboro will again host 2019 KulineRun established by PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (HIN) on Sunday, April 7. The event is the running match that is combined with the culinary festival afterward.
“The total participant of the running match has almost reached 1,500 people,” said PT HIN president director Iswandi Said on Wednesday, March 27.
Iswandi explained the start and finish line of the match are set at Hotel Inna Garuda Malioboro, Yogyakarta. The competition is divided into three categories; 2.5K (2,500 meters), 5K (5,000 meters), and 10K (10,000 meters).
After the competition, participants can enjoy various typical foods of the region provided in front of the hotel until the roadside of Malioboro streets, such as clorot (sticky dough of glutinous rice flour sweetened with coconut sugar filled into the cone-shaped coconut leaf) and chewy snack gatot and tiwul made from cassava.

“We call on traders in Yogyakarta’s villages to enliven and open sales in this event. The tenant’s booths are free of charge for micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs),” Iswandi said, adding that each running participant will earn vouchers to be exchanged with foods in the festival.
Following the previous event in November last year, Iswandi said the event is aimed at boosting the tourism that raising local wisdom in culinary and arts of Yogyakarta. The similar agenda is also planned to be held in Medan, Padang, Surabaya, and Bali.
The KulineRun organizing committee will grant prizes in cash amounted to Rp50 million. People who want to join the running match is required to pay the registration fee Rp125,000 for the 2.5K category, Rp150,000 for the 5K category, and Rp175,000 for 10K category. Participants will also get a jersey, medals, e-certificate, and BIB number chip.
