KPK Arrests Legislator, SOE Officials in Sting Operation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested one member of the House of Representatives (DPR) during a series of a sting operation (OTT).

“At early today, KPK secures one DPR member. The investigation is underway in KPK building,” said the agency spokesman Febri Diansyah via a text message, Thursday, March 28.

During the raid on Wednesday evening, March 27, the anti-graft body arrested seven people, including officials of State-Owned Enterprise (SOE), in different places across Jakarta.

“So from Wednesday afternoon until this morning, we have arrested eight people in the OTT in Jakarta,” he confirmed.

The KPK suspected there was fund delivery related to the distribution of fertilizer by boat. “What is certain is that there was a need for fertilizer distribution from a state-run fertilizer producer company via private vessels,” Febri concluded.
