Management Balk at Amien Rais` Remark on Borobudur Hotel

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The management of Borobudur Hotel has responded statement issued by Amien Rais. The honorary council chairman of National Mandate Party (PAN) said that the hotel is infested with mysterious aura which is prone to create electoral frauds.

Amien demanded the vote recapitulations of the simultaneous elections not to take place at Borobudur Hotel in Central Jakarta.

“We strongly deny such baseless remark that cannot be proven,” said the hotel marketing communications manager, Rizki Permata Sari, in a written statement that Tempo received on Wednesday, March 27.

Borobudur Hotel, Rizki underlined, is welcoming every activities and event in the hotel and is highly committed to always provide services and maintain convenience and security for its guests.

The KPU commissioner Viryan Azis, meanwhile, seemed confused with Amien Rais’ call, saying that the voting tabulations are always held at KPU headquarters since 2014. “I don’t know what Amien meant. But the national general election recapitulation is done at the KPU HQ,” said Viryan.

Based on Tempo’s research, votes recapitulation of the 2004 and 2009 elections were done at Borobudur Hotel before it was moved to the KPU headquarters in 2014.
