Ganjar Pranowo: Radical Civil Servants Still Exist among Us

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo revealed intelligence suggesting the existence of members of the state civil apparatus (ASN) who had been exposed to radicalism in his administration.
“I still receive intelligence reports and from the general public of a number of ASN members who have been radicalized. I continue to hear these stories from public reports,” said Ganjar today while leading an assembly consisting of ASN across Central Java’s provincial government.
Based on the intelligence findings, said Ganjar, a number of civil servants had also brandished banned flags representing organizations that were against Indonesia’s five state ideologies (Pancasila).

“There are also those who post radical teachings on their social media accounts,” he said.
Ganjar further announced he had taken several measures by summoning the civil servants in question, but many denied the allegations once confronted.
“If you don’t agree with [Pancasila] then just be open with it and meet us, voice your disagreement. Don’t go out and spread your radical ideas under the radar,” Ganjar Pranowo said.
