TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The advocacy and legal directorate of the Prabowo-Sandiaga campaign team lodged an official report against national television station Metro TV to the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) for allegedly providing biased news coverage related to the 2019 presidential election.
“We have just submitted a report to the KPI concerning unfair, imbalance news content and discussions broadcasted by Metro TV,” said directorate member Dolfie Rompas to Tempo on Thursday, March 22, in the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) office, Jakarta.
The report was also related to the team’s rejection against the appointment of Metro TV as the fourth election debate organizer given the latter's obvious support for the Jokowi-Ma'ruf ticket.
“Metro TV airs unfair and imbalance coverage on campaign processes,” Dolfie noted.

The report sent to the KPI was copied to the Bawaslu and the General Election Commission (KPU). Dolfie said that his team submitted pieces of evidence regarding the unfair coverage displayed by Metro TV in a USB.
The evidence includes a video footage during Metro TV's anniversary event displaying all its employees shouting yells of "Jokowi is us, we are Jokowi", Dolfie mentioned.
The fourth presidential election debate, in which only presidential candidates will take part, will be held in Balai Sudirman building, South Jakarta, focusing on issues related to ideology, governance, defense, security, and international relations. The debate will be broadcast by Metro TV, SCTV, and Indosiar.
