3 Members of Ali Kalora Terror Group Die in Firefight

22 March 2019 15:13 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThree members of the Ali Kalora-led East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT) died during a gunfight on Thursday afternoon, March 21, against the police’s Tinombala Task Force in Air Teh hamlet, Marete village, Sausu district, Parigi Moutong regency, Central Sulawesi.

The dead were Andi Muhamad a.k.a Abdullah from Makassar, Jaka Ramadhan alias Ikrima from Banten, and Alhaji Kaliki alias Ibrohim from Ambon.

“We will evacuate the bodies by air,” said National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo today, March 22, in his office, Jakarta.

Dedi earlier explained that based on local information the terror group was divided into two units. The terror group fled separately and moved from one village to another. The MIT members were cornered as Tinombala personnel continued to explore, monitor and hunt them.

To date, the number of MIT members as listed in the most-wanted list (DPO) is allegedly down to only seven. Four members were shot dead and one arrested in early March of 2019, and the terror group now only has a long-barrel firearm taken by Ali Kalora and two revolvers.
