TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - During an appearance at an open discussion initiated by the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin campaign team on Thursday, Vice President Jusuf Kalla had the opportunity to answer the questions from audience members.
One of the interesting questions, the VP was asked to compare the leadership of Jokowi to those of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono or SBY.
The question was responded with chuckles from the audience, with Jusuf Kalla answering; “This is a difficult one, ethically I’m not in a position to assess both bosses,” said Kalla jokingly.

As most would notice, Jusuf Kalla served as a vice president to SBY in his first term from 2004-2009.
Kalla eventually answered the question and maintains that every leader has their style of leadership and said that SBY is a typical leader that always wants to perform. Meanwhile, he assessed that Jokowi is a leader that invests his attention to micro details.
“They are both equally good,” said the vice president.
Jusuf Kalla’s answer also explains why Jokowi is known for his signature impromptu visits, known as blusukan, which the VP explained is driven by Jokowi’s eagerness to know every detail.
