Prabowo to Commence Campaign in Makassar; Sandiaga in Sragen

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto would commence his public electoral campaign in Makassar, South Sulawesi on Sunday, March 24. The Prabowo - Sandiaga campaign team spokesman Andre Rosiade said that the campaign would take place in Lapangan Karebosi.
“We have planned so far to hold [the campaign] in Makassar, March 24, and the last campaign will be on April 13 in Tangerang,” said Andre at Atlet Century Park Hotel, Thursday, March 21.
Andre explained that the location was chosen considering Prabowo had yet visited South Sulawesi. He admitted that Prabowo - Hatta Rajasa ticket was defeated by the opponent Jokowi - Jusuf Kalla in the 2014 Presidential Election. Jokowi camp gained 71.41 percent, far bested Prabowo with 28.59 percent.
“With God’s willing, we will win [the 2019 election] in South Sulawesi and lead in Sulawesi Island,” Andre added.
Meanwhile, Prabowo’s running mate Sandiaga Uno would start the public campaign in Sragen, Central Jakarta. However, Sandiaga still awaited for the permit issuance. “We plan to kick off the campaign in Sragen, Central Jakarta. Just pray for us. We’re still managing the permission,” said Sandiaga on Wednesday, March 20.
