4 Bad Habits Preventing You to Move On from Your Ex

21 March 2019 09:11 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Falling in love might be the single greatest feeling you can experience on earth, which just makes it hurt more once a relationship ends.

It’s human of you to want to immediately move on from the memories of your former lover, but some may have failed to do just that. The following are 4 habits that prevent you from moving on with your life following a breakup.

  1. Consciously Refusing to Forget

It might be easier to forget the memories built up in a relationship that lasted a month or two, however, the same unfortunately cannot be said to those that have been in a prior relationship lasting more than the duration of months.

You may often stumble upon yourself scanning through the photos of you and your ex-lover in social media or your phone memory. Refusing to delete and constantly reliving past memories might hinder your attempts to let go of the past.

  1. Curiosity

Ever been curious and ending up monitoring your former lover’s current activities through social media? Well, this is one activity that makes you fail to move on. Let her or him be in the dark and open a new chapter in your life, you don’t need to know what they are up to.

  1. Clinging on Hopes of Being Together Again

You may have a hard time letting go of past memories if deep in your heart you still hope that both of you can reunite again in some way. This mindset is the giant wall in front of you, hampering you from ever moving on.

  1. Not Used to Being Independent

You may have spent time everywhere together in each other’s arm, but now you’re alone, get used to being independent. Always remember that realistically, you have to stand on your own two feet one day.
