TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched several offices in the Ministry of Religious Affairs building on Jl. Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, and the office of the United Development Party's (PPP) central executive board (DPP) on Jl. Diponegoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
The search, which began this morning, March 18, was conducted in the wake of the alleged bribery case at the Religious Affairs Ministry that implicated PPP chairman Romahurmuziy or Romy.
The anti-graft body has earlier sealed two offices in the ministry belonging to Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin and secretary-general M. Nur Kholis following the arrest of Romy during the KPK’s sting operation in Surabaya, East Java, Friday, March 15.
KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said that another office in the ministry was closed. “The office belongs to the ministry’s head of employees bureau, Ahmadi,” said Febri today at his office.

Meanwhile at the PPP office, the KPK team searched the office of Romy, who was recently dismissed from his position on Saturday, March 16. “KPK investigators also searched the party treasurer’s and administration’s offices,” he added.
However, Febri stopped short of detailing the search as it was still underway.
The KPK has named three suspects in the case; Romahurmuziy as the bribe recipient and the head of the Religious Affairs Ministry's East Java office, Haris Hasanudin, and the head of the Religious Affairs Ministry's Gresik office, Muhammad Muafaq Wirahadi, as the bribers.
