TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - City-owned MRT Jakarta announced it received thousands of inputs from the public during the past 5-days MRT trial run since March 12. The most heard is the lack of communication coverage as it enters the underground route.
“So far, people were pretty satisfied by the services and facilities MRT offers. However, there are several notes we received that can help us improve our services,” said William Sabandar, MRT Jakarta President Director at the Bundaran HI station on Saturday, March 16.

The city’s MRT public trial run was first opened on March 12 up to March 24 before eyeing to be fully operable by the end of the month.
According to him, the most frequent input from test run participants is the lack of signboards inside the stations and requests for free Wifi inside the MRT trains.
In response, the MRT Jakarta president said the sign boards will be added before the grand opening and that free WiFi is already offered, though still limited to Telkomsel as the only mobile network operator currently. However, he invited other operators on a partnership opportunity.
