TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bahar bin Smith was heard threatening President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo after completing his court trial for allegedly physically abusing two teenage boys with initials MKU and CAJ.
Bahar was visibly agitated by the trial and showed real determination in sending the message out to the president toward journalists waiting for him at the courtroom exit.
“This is my message for Jokowi, wait for my release,” said Bahar while he walked out of the courtroom today, March 14, at the Library and Archive Headquarters in Bandung City.

Today's trial saw that the prosecutor urged the judge to deny Bahar’s defense exception.
According to Bahar, who’s the leader of the Tajul Alawiyyin Islamic boarding school (pesantren), the case incriminating him is a form of legal injustice by President Jokowi.
“This is a form of unjust by Jokowi. Wait for my release and he will feel the wrath of my tongue on stage,” Bahar threatened, in an attempt to convey that he will not hold back his words against the president once he gets released.
Bahar bin Smith is charged with Article 333 (2) of the criminal code (KUHP) and two other primary charges on abuse and violation of child protection.
