TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Prabowo Subianto – Sandiaga Uno campaign team (BPN) legal and advocacy director Sufmi Dasco Ahmad responded to the public disapproval of Prabowo’s candidacy by 1998 activist kidnapping survivors and relatives.
Dasco said that the investigation report by the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) never mentioned Prabowo Subianto nor any involvement to the severe human rights violation in one of Indonesia’s dark past.

“The report by Komnas HAM never mentioned Prabowo as a kidnapper nor did he order such atrocity. We’ll leave it at that, people are already smart now,” said Dasco in a voice message sent to Tempo today, March 13.
In return, Dasco mentioned Jokowi’s administration for the past five years that is also unable to uncover the truth and completely solve past cases of human rights violations. However, he did not mention the commitment of Prabowo and Sandiaga Uno to solve past kidnapping cases if the ticket gets elected in the upcoming presidential election.
