KPU Revoke 5 Foreign Nationals from Indonesia's Final Voter List

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) general election commission (KPU) officially revoked five foreign nationals who were previously listed in the final voter list (DPT) for the upcoming 2019 general elections.

“It’s been instructed to be revoked since the named in question do not fulfill the requirements to be a voter,” said KPU NTB Head Suhardi Soud in Mataram on Thursday, March 7.

According to Suhardi, the Home Affairs Ministry suggests that there are 103 foreign nationals who are listed in the DPT across Indonesia, with seven of them listed in the NTB region across Lombok District, Mataram City, and Dompu.

Suhardi explained that the KPU team on the field had conducted a factual verification prior to revoking the names of the foreign nationals; Guillaume Andre Marcel (French), Rex Cummins (Australian), Hendrikus CP (Dutch), Panagiotis Xydias (Greek), and Hiromi Kanno (Japanese).
