TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo reminded that the involvement of private parties is necessary to achieve the economic growth target in 2019 and 2020 in addition to recording positive economic performance.
"I always underline that the State Budget [APBN] clearly has limitation. Therefore, an innovation of synergy with private parties must be created," said Jokowi while leading the plenary cabinet meeting on Government Work Plan for 2020 at the Presidential Office on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.
The President mentioned that the increase in investment and export was required to achieve the intended target, as he had frequently mentioned. Reform programs to boost investment and export must be conducted to strengthen trust among entrepreneurs and to generate broader benefits, create jobs, and curb unemployment.
During his speech, Jokowi said that the working plan must continue to be carried out, even in this political year. "For example, this meeting on drafting Government Working Plan [RKP] and the determination of the macroeconomic and fiscal policy for 2020 that must be held," Jokowi noted.
Jokowi further noted that Indonesia must maintain economic growth in 2019 and 2020, and anticipate rapid changes in the global economy. "Either related to the monetary policy of the United States, the fluctuation of price commodity, trade war and protectionism, moderation of growth in China, and global security and geopolitics," the President noted.
