Democrat Party`s Andi Arief to Undergo BNN Drug Rehabilitation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Democrat Party politician Andi Arief is mandated to undergo an outpatient rehabilitation program at the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in East Jakarta starting today.
“Yes, as of today Andi Arief will be rehabilitated at BNN. As for the details of the rehab, the BNN will provide a statement,” said Indonesian National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Mohammad Iqbal at the BNN headquarters on Wednesday.

According to him, police have completely handed over Andi’s rehabilitation process to the BNN after he was detained on Sunday night by the Police’s drug crime unit (Bareskrim) before his release on Tuesday night.
The Democrat Party politician was arrested by a joint team consisting of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and BNN at a hotel room in the Hotel Peninsula, West Jakarta, on Sunday night March 3.
Police investigators suspect Andi Arief had just consumed crystal meth prior to the raid. Police suspicion was confirmed after investigators conducted a urine test.
