MRT Jakarta Eyeing 285,000 Passengers in 13-Day Test Period

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Mass Rapid Transit (MRT Jakarta) is eyeing to transport 285,600 passengers during its trial period lasting for 13 days from March 12 – March 24.
“There will be 98 scheduled trips available each day from 08:00-16:00,” said MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head Muhamad Kamaluddin to Tempo on Tuesday, March 5.
The company will operate seven trainsets with one backup. The trips will also be separated with a 10-minute gap between trains.

Open registration is available for the public to try out a version of the MRT train before it is officially launched, which can be accessed through ayocobamrtj.com or through its partner in Bukalapak.
However, Kamaluddin explained that passengers will be limited according to a specific date from 4,000 passengers in March 12 up to 28,800 passengers in March 24. The tryout tickets scheduled for March 12, 13, 16, and 17 are fully booked across several MRT Jakarta stations.
MRT Jakarta Phase 1 is a 16-kilometer-long route from Lebak Bulus – Bundaran HI (Hotel Indonesia Roundabout) that will pass 16 stations.
