Fighting Hoax, Prabowo Team Initiate Door-to-Door Campaign

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The campaign team of opposition’s presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto expressed their concern on the spread of hoaxes that could possibly drop their candidate’s electability nearing the presidential election.
One alternative to suppress fake information and hoax Prabowo – Sandiaga Uno’s team (BPN) currently implements is a door-to-door campaign.
“We work hard from door to door,” said BPN spokesman Andre Rosiade on Tuesday.

Andre said this responsibility of actively engaging with people in the field is not only tasked to volunteers but also registered support group members and legislative candidate from political parties joining the opposition’s political party coalition.
He claims that the bombardment of hoaxes has been aimed at Prabowo Subianto since Indonesia’s 2009 and 2014 election and said this situation has dropped the presidential hopeful’s electability.
The themes often used as a campaign to discredit Prabowo, he explained, is information suggesting him of being an authoritarian, temperamental person, and a severe human right violator. Andre said that these sort slanders are always brought up during an election.
