Free Ticket of MRT Jakarta Trial Available on Bukalapak

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - MRT Jakarta has opened the online registration for the public willing to try MRT train today, March 5, at 10:00 a.m. The trial run, which is free of charge, is set for March 12 to 23.

Other than the registration via a website http://www.ayocobamrtj.com, the public could get a free ticket through the e-commerce platform Bukalapak.

“MRT Jakarta chooses a reliable service agent to help the process of online registration, which is Bukalapak,” said MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head, Muhamad Kamaluddin, in a statement today, March 5.

The public should first download Bukalapak app and register themselves at the column of Trial Run MRT Jakarta. Applicants must fill out the trial date and the station name from which they would like to board. One account can take more than one trial run. The registration should be done at least one day before the trial.

Applicants would be asked for an email address and must confirm the data validation using unique code sent by Bukalapak to their phone number. The electronic ticket would be delivered to the registered email, and that must be shown on the trial day.

MRT Jakarta CEO William Sabandar said his company did not set a quota of passengers, yet targeted 28,000 registrars to meet the train’s maximum capacity. “No quota. People can just register,” he said.

To February’s end, the project construction of MRT Jakarta phase I, connecting Lebak Bulus in South Jakarta to Hotel Indonesia Roundabout in Central Jakarta, had reached 99.06 percent completion. The train is expected to start its commercial operation on March 24.
