TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Transportation Agency has opened the trial run of Light Rail Transit or LRT Jakarta for the public today afternoon, March 5. The trial run would start from 16:00 until 20:00. The agency would provide a free ticket for passengers of public minivan Jak Lingko, locally known as angkot, number Jak24 with the Pulogadung - Pasar Senen route.
“Passengers of Jak24 will get a free LRT ticket,” said deputy head of Jakarta Transportation Agency, Sigit Wijatmoko, Tuesday, March 6.
Sigit explained Jak24 passengers willing to board LRT Jakarta should get off the minivan at the Kelapa Gading Mall bus stop where an officer was ready to hand out a free ticket. The ticket could be redeemed with a sticker to enter the newly-built train at LRT Boulevard station, that was located in front of the bus stop.
The free program, he added, would be valid until March 17. Sigit hoped the public could take the chance to try the train.
Earlier, PT LRT Jakarta president director, Allan Tandiono, said his company did not set a quota of the passenger to try LRT train. “We try every scenario during the trial run. We want to monitor the situation in the peak hour,” said Allan on February 25.
Allan explained that passengers could get off LRT Jakarta train in every station, namely Boulevard Utara Station, Boulevard Selatan Station, Pulomas Station, Pacuan Kuda Station, and Velodrome Station.
