Kominfo to Hold Digital Talent 2019 Scholarship

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kominfo) will once again hold the Digital Talent 2019 scholarship allocated for 20 thousand participants, a program that prepares digital technicians in the midst of Indonesia’s industry 4.0.
“There were 46,000 people in last year’s event,” said Kominfo Minister Rudiantara in Bandung on Tuesday.
The Digital Talent scholarship was founded in 2018 and plans to reopen submissions online for this year on April 15.

According to the minister, World Bank data suggests the need for million digital technicians for Indonesian enterprises, which is an average of 600,000 annually. The training will be held for two months taught by college lecturers across 28 universities and 22 institutes of technology (Politeknik) across Indonesia.
This program will help participants better understand Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Cyber Security, Machine Learning, Digital Policy & Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Programming & Coding, and Graphic Design & Animation.
“The focus is to produce skillful workforces,” said Minister Rudiantara. Out of the 1,000 applicants in 2018, only 20 did not pass.
