Jokowi Highly Electable among Millennials, says Roy Morgan Survey

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The recent Roy Morgan Survey shows incumbent presidential candidate Joko “Jokowi” Widodo far more electable among millennials compared to his long-time rival and presidential hopeful Prabowo Subianto.
According to its poll that was conducted from January 2019, 61.5 percent from 1,039 respondents across the 25-34 year old demographic in 17 provinces that were asked about presidential candidacy preference answered they support Jokowi.

“Prabowo attracted 38.5 percent among this demographic,” said CEO Roy Morgan Michele Levine as quoted from the pollster’s website www.roymorgan.com on Monday.
They also claim that Jokowi is the favored presidential candidate among demographics such as; 17 to 24 year-olds, 35 to 49-year-old, and above 50 years of age.
Roy Morgan claims that Jokowi’s electability is leading with 58 percent, a 5 percent increase compared to the 2014 presidential election. Meanwhile, Prabowo scores 42 percent that is a 5 percent drop.
