TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The General Election Commission (KPU) held a meeting with two campaign teams of presidential-vice presidential candidates Tuesday evening, February 26. In the meeting, the board concluded several points regarding the establishment of the third up to fifth election debate.
The last session, KPU decided, will take place at the end of campaign period which is on April 13, 2019, based on a drawing carried out along with Jokowi - Ma'ruf and Prabowo - Sandiaga campaign team.
“Based on numbers drawn, the fifth election debate will be on April 13,” said KPU chairman Arief Budiman.

As for the upcoming debate on March 17 at The Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta, the commission tapped Alfito Deannova and Putri Ayuningtyas as moderators.
In addition, KPU planned to reduce the number of audiences. “For now, we ask some 75 supporters from each campaign team, and KPU will invite 300 people,” Arief added. “So the total seat in the location will be for 450 people.”
KPU with the two campaign team of Jokowi - Ma'ruf and Prabowo - Sandiaga is still canvassing the debate format, its mechanism, rules for live screenings around the location, and others.
“We have taken suggestions from the two campaign team, such as video playing during the second debate that turned out to be ineffective,” said the KPU head. “So we will likely change methods to deliver questions by displaying film images.”
