TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) has officially launched Nusantara Satu satellite to provide information technology across Indonesia including to the outskirt regions of the country.

"With its quality and capacity to spread network across Indonesia, Nusantara Satu will be able to support the economic growth in the Indonesian regions," said PSN network director Heru Dwikartono in Jakarta, Friday, February 22, adding that the government will be able to provide internet connection to every village in the country after the satellite orbited.

PSN General Manager of Marketing Commercial Directorate Meidiyanto Andwiputro said the company provides VSAT with a more affordable price at Rp500,000 per month for 8-gigabyte from previously at Rp2 million per month.

Besides, the company will also offer an internet voucher of 30-megabyte quota at Rp3,500, which he deemed to be affordable for the villagers. "People can use it to access WhatsApp or YouTube with the lowest resolution," he said.

Meidiyanto stated that PSN’s Ubiqu and Sinyalku products cover west end of Sumatra until east end of Papua, and north end of Sulawesi until south end of Nusa Tenggara.
