PSSI Scandal; Joko Driyono Undergo 40 Hours of Questioning

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) acting chief Joko Driyono completed a string of police questioning that lasted nearly 43 hours for his involvement in tampering evidence and match-fixing scandal.
On Monday, February 18, Joko was questioned by police investigators’ anti-soccer mafia task force for 21 hours but was then questioned again on Thursday which lasted up to 22 hours.

Head of the task force Brig. Gen. Hendro Pandowo recalled on what happened behind the police questionings. “There were a number of explanations that needed which took time to do,” said Hendro to Tempo at the anti-soccer mafia task force located in the Jakarta Metro Police yesterday, Feb. 21.
Hendro said investigators needed Joko to provide them with testimonies that were backed by data. The questioning itself was held in several sessions; it was not non-stop.
Joko Driyono was named as a suspect after he tampered with evidence on February 14 by sending three of his men to steal 71 pieces of evidence at the PSSI Disciplinary Commission offices that were under police investigation and covered with police lines.
