Luhut: Jokowi Never Issue Land Permit up to Thousands of Hectares

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that the government never issued land concession permit amounting to hundreds of thousands of hectares during Joko Widodo or Jokowi’s era.
“During Pak Joko Widodo’s era, there is no issuance of land concession permit that covers up to hundreds of hectares of land. Never, and will not ever happen. Why? Because it’s not good for us,” said Luhut in the Environment and Forestry Ministry building, Jakarta, Thursday, February 21.
The minister conveyed the statement in response to the reporter's question on Jokowi who is urged to disclose data of lands in the government. According to Luhut, the government has drafted one map policy.
“It’s a public data, you can just open it. You can see how much land I own. I also have a land plot. It’s nothing to hide,” Luhut remarked.
Earlier, presidential candidate number 01 Jokowi attacked his opponent Prabowo Subianto with an issue of land ownership during the second presidential election debate on Sunday, February 17.
Based on an investigative report done by Tempo and civil group Auriga Nusantara, it is recorded environmental businesses controlled almost 1.1 million hectares of land in several Indonesian regions. The businesses have an affiliation with a number of politicians from either Jokowi or Prabowo camp.
