Tjahjo Kumolo Accused of Spreading Lies Regarding Village Funds

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - House of Representatives (DPR) Deputy Speaker Fahri Hamzah accused Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo of lying to the public with his statement implying that the village funds exist because of President Joko Widodo.
Fahri said that the origins of village funds can be traced back to the Susilo “SBY” Bambang Yudhoyono’s administration.

“I think that this statement is a public lie, which is dangerous, the village funds is mandated by the Constitution (UU) and commenced under president SBY,” said Fahri through his Twitter account on Wednesday.
Previously, Tjahjo Kumolo said in the national coordination meeting of village governments at the Ecovention Ocean Ecopark, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Tjahjo Kumolo asked every village leader present in the meeting to stand up and yell Jokowi’s name everytime he chanted out village funds. He also said that the budget for village funds exist because of Jokowi.
“It is false to think that village fund is because of the president’s order, that is a lie,” said Fahri who maintained that the fund will continue to exist whoever the president is.
