TEMPO.CO, Surakarta - The Regional General Election Commission (KPU) of Surakarta, Central Java set a quick count method for the 2019 election on April 17 in Solo City.
“We will hold an official quick count through a tiered recapitulation,” said KPU Surakarta member Suryo Baruno Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Solo.
Suryo asserted that KPU would establish two activities of the vote tally in the level of Polling Station Working Committee (KPPS). After the voting and the vote counting finishes, regional KPU would directly send a copy of C forms to KPU.
“Members of KPPS will draft many forms later, including a copy of C and C1 forms, starting from presidential election to legislative election,” said Suryo. “The copy of C and C1 forms will be scanned and uploaded for a report.”
The method, he added, is one of KPU's efforts to provide a quick election result to the public.
KPU Surakarta head Nurul Sutarti planned to prepare facilities and infrastructure and deploy personnel to support the information distribution related to the quick count.
However, KPU Surakarta would officially run a real quick count through a tiered recapitulation. “It is a form of transparency so voters can monitor the voting result and recapitulation.”
