Jusuf Kalla Applauds Jokowi and Prabowo`s Honesty During Debate

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla applauded the performance shown by both of the 2019 presidential election candidates Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Prabowo Subianto in the second presidential debate on Sunday, February 17.
“It’s clear that Jokowi mastered his material in the second debate, meanwhile Prabowo was really honest by acknowledging the government’s positive accomplishments,” said the vice president at his house yesterday.
For a number of times in the debate, Prabowo Subianto did not shy away from commending the achievements of Jokowi’s administration. Despite giving credit to policies in Jokowi’s energy sector, Prabowo maintained that there are several things that need correction.
Prabowo Subianto also highlighted Jokowi’s lack of attention to major companies that have heavily polluted Indonesia’s natural environment even though he verbally appreciated what the current government had achieved.
Jusuf Kalla scored the second debate higher than the first presidential debate in January. “Overall, this debate was far better, more transparent and relaxed compared to the first,” he said.
