TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State energy company Pertamina has adjusted the price of jet fuel or avtur that is effective starting on today, February 16.
Pertamina Media Communication Manager Arya Dwi Paramita said the adjustment to the new price of jet fuel was based on energy minister decree no. 17/2019 regulating the basic price for regular fuel and jet fuel.
"Pertamina hopes that the drop of avtur price can be seen as Pertamina’s support toward the national aviation industry, which also hopefully, will affect other industries including tourism,” he said in the official statement on Saturday, February 16.
According to Arya, Pertamina had periodically adjusted the avtur price for twice in a month and as per February 16, it experienced a decrease from the previous period. Avtur’s published rate at Soekarno-Hatta Airport dropped to Rp7,960 from previously Rp8,120 per liter, or 26 percent lower than that at Changi Airport, Singapore on February 15, at Rp10,769 per liter.
The avtur price adjustment was also made after considering the global oil price, rupiah exchange rate, and many other factors. Arya said the avtur price for each airline was made upon the agreement between Pertamina as the provider, and the airlines as the consumers.
Pertamina, he said, is committed to giving best service for the public by providing jet fuel at 67 airports across Indonesia.
