TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Angkasa Pura II (AP2) plans to reopen the South Perimeter Road that had been closed for a year now. The road was closed following the tunnel collapse at the main access to Soekarno-Hatta Airport in February 2018.
The road is scheduled to reopen on March 7.
"We are reopening the South Perimeter as there is high public demand from those who need the access," Soekarno-Hatta Airport's executive general manager M Suriawan Wakan told Tempo on Friday, Feb. 15.

The 9-kilometer road was shut down since the tunnel collapsed on February 5, last year. The two-meter high concrete walls fell and hit a passing car, killing one of the two passengers who were trapped inside for more than 12 hours.
The plan to open the South Perimeter road has been coordinated with PT KAI, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, the Tangerang Metro Police, and the Tangerang City Transportation Agency. Suriawan hopes the reopening of the South Perimeter Road will help people transport to and from the airport via the Sedyatmo toll road.
