Ministry: Instagram Blocks Alpantuni Posting Pornographic Content

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A social media platform Instagram granted a demand issued by Communication and Informatics Ministry to shut down the access of an account Alpantuni that posting pornographic contents.
As of Wednesday at 05:00 local times, @alpantuni that was containing animations post could no longer be accessed.
As noted in a press release, the ministry’s spokesperson Ferdinandus Setu said that the blocking of the account was carried out after verification on public reports received by the ministry’s sub-directorate for internet content control.
“The verification shows all contents posted in an Instagram account Alpantuni violates Article 27 (1) of Law No, 11/2018 on Electronic Information and Transaction concerning the ban on the distribution of pornographic content,” Ferdinandus remarked on Wednesday, February 13.
The ministry, he added, appreciated the public who reported the account via a report feature on the social media which quickened the takedown process.
The ministry called for internet citizen or netizen to report any false account or internet content or social media such as Instagram that promoting negative contents through a Twitter account @aduankonten, aduankonten.id, and messaging platform Whatsapp 08119224545.
