KPU to Intensify Candidate Interaction in Second Election Debate

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The General Election Commission (KPU) will intensify interaction of candidates during the second election debate slated to take place February 17, 2019, in Sultan Hotel, Jakarta.
“The second until fifth segment will be a dialogue that allows each presidential candidate to ask questions to another,” said KPU commissioner Pramono Ubaid Tanthowi in Jakarta, Monday, February 11.
The upcoming debate for presidential hopeful is divided into six segments. In the first segment, each candidate will deliver a presentation on visions and missions, while the second and third segment will be a question-and-answer session from panelists.
The fourth segment means for explorative debate that will be started with a short video playing designated by the panelist team. In the fifth segment, each candidate is allowed to ask questions to each other, and the last segment will be a closing remark from candidates.
Pramono explained that questions to be asked during the open dialogue should be within the second debate theme, which is energy, food, infrastructure, natural resources, and environment.
He added that preparations for the upcoming election debate for presidential hopeful only, number 01 Joko Widodo or Jokowi and number 02 Prabowo Subianto, has 90 percent completes.
