Pertamina Lowers Fuel Prices

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned oil company PT Pertamina will reduce the price of a number of fuel starting on Sunday, February 10, 2019. The decrease will vary starting from IDR 800 per liter.
The step is will be taken as a response to the decreasing trend of global oil price and the strengthening of the Rupiah against the United States Dollar. In addition, PT Pertamina decided to decrease fuel price after making some observation on the public's purchasing power.
PT Pertamina's Retail Marketing Director Mas'ud Khamid explained that in accordance with the Government's policy, as an oil and gas upstream business entity, Pertamina adheres to price determining mechanism based on two main factors: crude oil price, and Rupiah exchange rate.
"The main component of the price is fluctiative, so we continue to make evaluation on fuel price," Mas'ud said in an official press release on Pertamina's website accessed on Saturday, February 9, 2019.
Mas'ud asserted that the price adjustment will vary between different products sold by Pertamina. Details of the new fuel price for Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas are as follows:
- Pertamax Turbo price decreases from IDR 12,000 to IDR 11,200 per liter
2. Pertamax price decreases from IDR 10,200 to IDR 9,850 per liter
3. Dexlite price decreases from IDR 10,300 to IDR 10,200 per liter
4. Dex price decreases from IDR 11,750 to IDR 11,700 per liter
5. Pertalite price remains at IDR 7,650 per liter
Furthermore, Pertamina will also adjust the price of Premium to IDR 6,450 per liter to match the price outside Java, Madura and Bali. Currently, price of Premium fuel in different regions are different because of different vehicle tax policy in some regions.
